The library maintains an email reference service that allows MCC faculty, staff, students and the public to send questions to a librarian or library staff member. You may ask the library many types of questions, including:
- Reference and Research Questions: help with using a library resource or finding information on a topic
- Library Hours and Policies
- Technical Questions: questions related to library technology: computer, databases, remote access
- Other questions
You may access this email form by going to the library homepage and either selecting “Ask a Librarian” from the left hand of the page or “Online Forms” listed on the right under Library Services.
If you would like to make a comment or suggestion, please use the separate form entitled “Suggestion Box” also located on our library’s website.

Over the summer, MCC students and staff began seeing an updated, progressive MCC Library. A survey of the student body last year showed that students wanted conventional fines on overdue materials, more rapid notification about overdue items, and they wanted more computers.
This year there will be:
- Multiple e-mail notifications to MCC student e-mail addresses only.
- No grace period on overdue items.
- A $1 per day fine per book.
- A $1 per hour fine on laptops.
- Revised procedures on holds for financial aid and registration.
- 25 percent more lab computers.
- 5 computers for study rooms.
- 6 laptops for 2-hours checkout.
- “Deep freeze” to reduce pop-ups.
- DVD players available for reserve and class material.
We hope that you will have a rewarding 2005-2006 Academic year.
