Not sure where to start? If you need articles from newspapers, magazines or journals on a topic, try using the Databases by Subject page on the library website. This page lists our article and research databases according to broad subjects, including: General, News and Newspapers, Business, Education, Science, Social Sciences and more. If your topic does not fit into any of these broad categories, a good place to start is in a general database. For additional help on selecting a database, view the page entitled Database Descriptions.

The featured NetLibrary eBook for December is entitled In Mencken: The Amerian Iconoclast. “In Mencken: The American Iconoclast, author Marion Elizabeth Rodgers draws on research from more than sixty archives to vividly recreate Mencken’s life and era. She shows how Mencken fought for civil liberties and free speech. We see the prominent role he played in the Scopes Monkey Trial, his long crusade against Prohibition, his fierce battles against press censorship, and his constant exposure of pious frauds and empty uplift. And throughout, Rodgers captures the irrepressible spirit and irreverent wit for which Mencken was famed.”
To view the eBook, go to the Library’s homepage and select NetLibrary from the left hand of the screen or in the Databases by Title listing. The eBook is accessible from the lower right corner of the NetLibrary main page if you are a current MCC student, faculty or staff. The eBook can only be accessed by one person at a time; therefore, be sure to close the book when are finished viewing the item.
