Library Website Changes
August 23rd, 2007 by AdministratorEffective August 20, 2007, a few changes were made to the library website, in an effort to improve the use of key features of the library’s online services.
The most notable change was to reword the link “Article Databases” to “Articles, Research, & More.” In addtion, the “Articles, Research & More” page has changed to include drop down boxes with links to all of our subscription databases (replacing the ABC links to the list).
Here is a brief summary of other notable changes you may want to be aware of as you begin research this semester or direct students to the library website for course assignments:
Left
- “Quick Research Links” reworded to “Quick Links” and moved above the Book Search box
- “Quick Book Search” reworded to “Book Search“
- Added link to “Renew Your Books Online“
- Placement of section “About the Library” and reordered items for prominence of “Information for Students” and “Services for Faculty”
- New page, “Suggest a Library Purchase” has replaced “Collection Development Policy” (which is included on the new page)
Middle
- “Finding Information” reworded to “Find & Search“
- Improvement of “Where Do I Start” page to include most common research resources
- Rewording of Find Books (Online Catalog) to “Books (Online Catalog)“
- Rewording from “Article Databases” to “Articles, Research & More“
- Moved “Access from Home” to this section
- Move and reworded section from “Useful Internet Sites” to “Find Internet Sites“
- New site for Internet Sites by Subject using a free wiki.
- Added link to “Evaluating Web Sources“
- Moved “Library Help” to top right next to Find & Search
- New site for Library FAQs is searchable using a free wiki.
- Reworded links under “More Libraries” to
- Search the Library of Texas
- Use Interlibrary Loan
- Get a TexShare card
