For 2 hours between 9pm and 11pm on Saturday, April 12, ELibrary and ProQuest Newsstand will be unavailable due to maintenance.

If you are attempting to search one of the MCC Library’s Gale databases (Gale Virtual Reference Library, Literature Resource Center, Health and Wellness Resource Center, Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Literary Criticism Select, Dictionary of Literary Biography, Scribner and Twayne’s) when using Internet Explorer version 7, you may notice that the individual database screen does not load.

Until this problem can be resolved, you will need to hit Refresh (F5) on your IE7 browser once after trying to get into the database.  You may also choose to use an alternate browser, such as Mozilla, Opera, or Netscape.

From NAXOS (affecting Naxos Music Library, Naxos Music Library Jazz, and Naxos Spoken Word Library)

An urgent maintenance on the Naxos system will be be carried out from

01:00 CST to 01:20 CST (AM) on August 27, 2007.

The interruption is expected to last for 20 minutes. When it occurs, you could experience service interruptions, and see captions like “connection reset”, “cannot find server” or “page cannot be displayed”. Service on Naxos Music Library, NML Jazz and Naxos Spoken Word Library will be affected.

ProQuest Newsstand, ELibrary (Electric Library) and Texas Digital Sanborn Maps, three databases from ProQuest will be down for 12 hours between

9 pm CST Saturday, July 21 and 9 am CST Sunday, July 22.

This upcoming downtime is due to necessary ProQuest database maintence performed by the vendor.

As a result of ProQuest’s product expansion, service for the following products will be temporarily interrupted, starting at 9:00 AM Eastern Time, Thursday, June 21:

• Ulrich’s Periodical Directory

Full service should be restored by 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Thursday, June 21.

Naxos Music, Jazz and Spoken Word Library are now working. No login is required on campus, but a user’s MCC username and password are required for logging in off-campus.

From Wednesday, April 11, 2007:

Due to a technical error at Naxos’s site, our 3 Naxos Online products (Naxos Music Library, Naxos Jazz, and Naxos Spoken Word Library) are temporarily inaccessible. They hope to have the problem fixed by tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience.
