Summer!
The season makes people think of kicking back and having fun. Going to see wonderful movies and reading good books are a big part of that fun. The “Read the Book – See the Movie” display celebrates that part of the summer experience. The display features all the classic stories which have made it to the “Silver Screen”. Come check out these adventurous, romantic, and dramatic titles which will guide you on a journey that requires no travel — except to where your imagination will take you.

Have you heard of National Library Week? This year it is celebrated from April 15 - 21, 2007. However, the MCC Library prefers to celebrate libraries all month long. Please come by the library to see our exhibits in celebration of libraries during National Library Month.
We are holding a giveaway during this month for MCC students only. Stop by the library front desk to enter this drawing to win one of two MAC cash awards ($10 deposited to your campus funds). The drawing will be held on Monday, April 23.
Also at the front desk we will periodically be giving away candy, pens, pencils, book marks and stickers.
We have two opportunities for you to celebrate libraries in writing at the front desk by answering these two questions: What is your first memory of a library? and Why do you love your library? You can also send comments to our suggestion box at http://www.mclennan.edu/library/lib/suggest.html.
We have selected books for our display covering such topics as books, reading, writing, poetry, fiction, and libraries. Please come by the book display located at the front of the library. You can also browse the selected titles in the online catalog.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 17th, we will be serving cake and punch in the library for everyone at MCC.
Also on Tuesday, April 17th, 5 MCC faculty members will be reading selections from original fiction in the LTC Rotunda at 1:00 pm. The event will run until 2:45 pm. The faculty members scheduled to read are: William Matta, James McKeown, George Wilhite, Charlotte Laughlin, and Kay Moser. All MCC faculty, staff and students are welcome, as well as anyone in the Waco-McLennan County area.
